Access key

Access keys are long-term credentials for an IAM user or the AWS account root user. It is recommended to use an IAM user. When you choose Access keys, you can create them through the command line or the console.

  • If you already have an EC2 instance configured with access permissions for your AWS account, you can create the IAM user's Access keys via the command line.
  • If you do not have an EC2 instance, you will need to create them through the AWS console.
